One I'd like to forget
My dreams were a little distubing last night, and vivid even after I woke up. While I don't remember all of them, I was able to save a few bits, in somewhat chronological order.
The whole family is gathering at my grandmothers house. Instead of getting hotel rooms, they add apartments to the house with a complex structure of balconies and steps. My aunt is there, and my cousin. There are hints of an impending doom, because family members keep dissappearing, and sort of a hushed fear creeps in to the household as we prepare for our family reunion thing.
My cousin is somehow able to turn into a cat. He got these powers from some greater being. So he creeps around at night in cat shape. There are suspicions that my neighbors are in a cult... one night when I am in bed, there are lights outside my window, and chanting, as a whole group of people have their meeing just underneath my room. I'm scared stiff. I think I actually woke up at some point in the night to my neighbor's light, but it affected my dream really powerfully. The 'cultists' turned out to be judging somebody on trial, who turned out to be good. The 'cultists' are actually aliens in an alliance to prevent the impending doom, not the cause of it.
I go and watch the gathering and begin to understand them. Then, I am going back up towards my family's apartment when I find a dead cat at the top of the steps. It's my cousin. I don't know what to do, I need to tell my family, but I don't know how to do it. I can only watch as my aunt discovers the cat, and the terrible feeling of dread that washes over me is unbearable. In my dream, she endured the loss of so much, and in quiet shock carries her son the dead cat out into the backyard. It turns out that the power that enabled him to become a cat made his cat form ultra-sensitive to light, so when morning came it killed him, but it is blamed on the cultists.
The world is falling to peices, so what is left of the family decides to hole up in a giant old abandoned boutique. It's filled with tacky dresses, and we start a colony in the dressing rooms to protect ourselves. I discover an old jacket that used to be mine, my security jacket, and huddle under it in a closet full of bridesmaid dresses. Other people start to come in and hide with me, and in silence we wait for whatever it is that is coming.
There was more stuff, a lot of it actually. But now I think entry this is too long as it is.
