From good to bad to kareoke duel

I start in a fairly isolated place, perhaps it was a monastary; I'm not sure since I had this dream a long time ago. Anyway, I'm happy just walking around when all of the sudden some random person comes up to me and whispers in my ear something about a thing that looks just like person but that'll eat me alive. So from then on I knew it was a dream and to try to prevent it from going bad I barricaded myself inside things as much as possible, which has actually worked in other would-be nightmares. However, it didn't work in this dream since the monster was able to lure me out and pounce on me. In a last fit to try to save myself I turn to the other people who were there and that same guy from before says "Sing at it! It can be destroyed if you sing at it!"

So as strange as that sounds, I start singing I don't remember exactly what, and it seems to get a reaction from the monster. After I'm done with my song, the monster kicks in with his own song, then I do mine and back and forth till I end up just end up embarrassing the thing into submission. What I can remember is ending, as a final taunt, with "Start a Fire" by the Tiger Lillies and waking up kinda happy about that.
